So I’ve been back in the states since the 1st and I haven’t updated anything so here goes.
1) Flying from another country to the US is fucking annoying. I had to answer the 3 questions, check in, go through security, go through customs, go through security AGAIN(cause the US is fucking insane) then answer the 3 questions again … all to just get to the gate. The flight was ok itself. The vegetarian meals were better than the regular meals and I watched two of the 3 movies they showed. Shrek 3 and Rise of the Silver Surfer. Shrek 3 was ok… My brain and eyes bled from the terror that was RoSS. So then we land. Have to go through immigration, wait for our bags to be unloaded, go through another customs gate, then I have to recheck my bags back into the system, go through yet another security checkpoint and finally take a shuttle across the airport to my gate. It was then revealed that my connecting flight was delayed nearly 2 hours. I should’ve made Amanda come pick me up in Philly. It would’ve been faster and easier. Especially considering US Air didn’t fit nearly 20 peoples luggage onto the flight and shipped it down on the next flight from philly to baltimore. … The Fuck? To top off this little joy of inconvenience they managed to destroy one of my suitcases. Not enough to cause me to lose any of my stuff. just enough to destroy the suitcase’s usability. FUCK US AIR.
2) So I’ve moved into our new building as much as I can move into anywhere since I am a Digital Bedouin and use my own computers and software and not any sort of workstation. Started discussing my new project and tried to get a paper done for ICRA but that didn’t happen due to a combination of lack of data and not really being satisfied with the algorithm or objective. Kinda means I didn’t really get anything tangible out of my Summer in Germany other than good times, good memories, a change in how I think about certain problems… I got a ton out of Germany.. I just didn’t get a paper out of it yet. Gonna see if I can get something out of this and maybe submit it to CVPR. Need to talk to the guy in Germany though and he’s busy as hell lately. Also need to finish up the write up for my Tracker stuff so I can turn in my second qual project and need to start studying for my Oral Exams and get a thesis committee formed. I’m also starting a new project on trying to recognize tissue disease from visual cues for a specific contact imaging modality. Need to make a fake uterus to practice on… my life sounds so silly sometimes. Gonna talk to my advisor about all this on Wednesday. This isn’t really that exciting cause I’m just relating my life and my life hasn’t been that entertaining the last few weeks. Just been relaxing and getting back into the swing of things.
3) Pathfinder is a terrible movie but the chaos warriors…. erm vikings look cool. E-ragon is an uninspired heap of shit. Even the title is a rip off of Tolkien and seriously … E-ragon is like Dragon++ … it’s fucking retarded.
4)okies gonna go look into getting a cat from a shelter. and fuck E-Ragon….
